Multiple B&M teams came together for this project at Erie International Airport, living our company Core Value of One Team.
The three month, $677,000 project began in August 2021 and involved rehabilitation and expansion of the airport's terminal apron. This included new electrical and communication duct banks, new fiber-optics for both the FAA and Erie Airport security, new LED edge lights, runway guard lights and relocating the airport's guide signs, as well as trench, conduit, wire, removal of old equipment, and installation of electrical and communication manholes.
The biggest challenge in the project came from a compressed schedule due to late material arrivals. This gave the team shorter work windows than anticipated.
"I was really proud of our team," said Project Manager Ken B. "What we did in two weeks...it was a team effort and a bunch of people pulling together to make it work."
The project wrapped up in November 2021 with a successful safety record.
