B&M’s Transportation team spent the summer of 2021 installing CCTV cameras along I-79 through Lawrence County, PA. The cameras were part of an overall ITS expansion for PennDOT’s District 11.

The $500K project got underway in May 2021. In addition to five CCTV cameras and poles, the crew installed trench, conduit and wire. They tied the new cameras into District 11’s Fiber Optic backbone, which feeds into PennDOT’s Western Regional Traffic Management Center (TMC) in Bridgeville, PA.

While on the job, the team recorded zero safety incidents.

B&M's Project Manager says the customer has been very pleased with our team’s ability to adapt to design changes while remaining on budget: “A lot of changes have been necessary throughout the process. Our team worked quickly with PennDOT staff and designers to keep the project moving forward.”
