B&M General Superintendent Achieves NABCEP Solar PV Installer Certification

NEW CASTLE, PA - May 2, 2011 - Bruce & Merrilees team member Steven Telesz, General Superintendent of the Electrical Services Group was notified on May 2, 2011 that he had passed the NABCEP Solar PV Installer’s exam. NABCEP is the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP), a volunteer board of renewable energy stakeholder representatives that include members from the Solar Industry, NABCEP Certificants, Renewable Energy Organizations, State Policymakers, Educational Institutions, and the Trades.

The NABCEP exam is a demanding four hour test that is the last step in a series of prequalification test that include understanding of building codes, environmental engineering specifications, products, services, grants, safety requirements, and reducing energy loads.  As of May 2011, Steve is one of only approximately 50 individuals with the NABCEP Solar PV Installer Certification in Pennsylvania and will allow Bruce& Merrilees to perform Solar PV Installation in a number of states and locations that previously were not available.
