Bruce & Merrilees' Transportation team is working ahead of schedule in Lock Haven, PA. They are removing and replacing all interchange lighting on Paul Mack Boulevard in Clinton County. The work involves removing nearly 100 existing lighting poles, foundations, and fixtures and installing 50 new poles, foundations, and fixtures. Also included is a new traffic signal intersection and two CCTV cameras along Route 220. In many cases, the team has had to prep the site by removing guide rails, moving earth to create a flat bench, installing the foundation, then replacing the guide rail. While it may be slow work, the end result is a safer experience for drivers and residents alike. "The highway slopes are in better condition now than they were when we started," says Tim M., one of the Foremen on the job . "They had big washouts before but now that we've gone through, we've reshaped the slope and added stone to prevent that." The project began in January of 2023 and is already well ahead of schedule. The team benefitted from scheduling delays on an unrelated project, which made additional team members available. That enabled the team to perform boring, trenching, and demolition work simultaneously. Tim says the customer is very satisifed with our team's work. In the beginning, the project's three inspectors spent all day on site. But our team's quality work and professional attitude won their trust, and now the inspectors only visit the site as needed. "I'm proud of the whole job," says Tim. "It's just a well-run, well-organized, nice job to do." |
