COLUMBUS, OH - Bruce & Merrilees' Midwestern High Voltage team is more than halfway through a large substation project for a Midwestern public utility customer. The team is building and installing a ring bus configuration to allow for a new T-line to feed the substation. The scope of work also includes the removal of old equipment and installation of new breakers, switches, metering equipment, foundations and cable trench, as well as a control house expansion.
This project utilizes Integrated Design & Construction (IDC). Since the project concept phase, a project management & engineering team from Bruce & Merrilees and RCM Technologies have been partnered with an engineering team from the utility. By working together on the project from cradle-to-grave, all parties work together to problem solve in real time, resulting in more efficiency and greatly reducing the need for change orders.
